The Australian Defence Force has provided two Black Hawk helicopters to assist with relief efforts following flooding in Emerald, Queensland.
The two Black Hawk helicopters will deliver emergency fodder to cattle stranded by floodwaters as part of the coordinated relief efforts by Emergency Management Queensland.
The Black Hawk helicopters are provided by the Australian Army’s 5th Aviation Regiment, based in Townsville.

| 20080127adf8115142_080 Major David Hafner is the Officer Commanding B Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment in Townsville and is the coordinator for the Defence assistance to the emergency relief effort. Major Hafner received the Conspicuous Service Cross as part of the 2008 Australia Day Awards.
