Armygeddon burns rubber at Summernats

07 January 2008

The Australian Army was well represented at Summernats 21, held in Canberra from the 3rd to the 6th of January 2008.

Army's commitment included two ARH Tiger aircraft, the Armygeddon street machine, an Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV) and a Heavy Recovery Vehicle.

The Chief of Army, Lieutenant General Peter Leahy, was in attendance on the Friday. He took the opportunity to experience the awesome power under the bonnet of Armygeddon with a lap around the pavilion.

Army apprentices from the Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (ASEME) were also on hand to answer questions about the vehicles, while the Defence Force Recruiting stand was equipped with information about jobs in the Army.
