US Secretary of Defense, the Hon. Dr Robert Gates arrives in Australia for AUSMIN

The United States Secretary of Defense, the Hon. Dr Robert Gates, has arrived in Australia as leader of the US delegation to the Australia-United States Ministerial Consultations (AUSMIN).
Dr Gates was accompanied by Ms Becky Gates and the Deputy US Secretary of State, the Hon. John Negroponte on the United States Air Force B747 arriving into RAAF Fairbairn.
His Excellency Mr Robert McCallum, Ambassador for the United States to Australia and Ms Mimi McCallum were also in attendance to meet the aircraft, with Mr Michael L'Estrange, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Mr Dennis Richardson, Australian Ambassador to the United States of America.
