ADF Brings AFL to Global Audience
07 August 2008
Soldiers of the International Stabilisation Force have been running an Australian Football clinic every Sunday, for 2 hours, over the last couple of months in Dili, East Timor.
The Australian Football League (AFL) had made sure that the troops who are far away from home got the opportunity to participate in its 150th anniversary. The AFL sent specially marked Sherrin footballs to the troops overseas to ensure they could celebrate Kick Around Australia; the day that marked 150 years since the first recorded game of Australian Football along with the rest of the nation.
