Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) 87th Anniversary

The Royal Australian Air Force celebrated its 87th birthday with a spectacular flypast across Canberra, along with an Anniversary Commemoration Cocktail Reception at the National Convention Centre.
Chief of Air Force, Air Marshal Geoff Shepherd described the day as, “A day to reflect on the sacrifices, the efforts and the commitment of Air Force personnel and to celebrate the achievements of our accomplished Air Force team”.
Recognising the proximity in age between Canberra (90 this year) and Air Force, Air Marshal Shepherd described the relationship between Air Force and the national capital as “a partnership” built through the best and worst of times.
