ADF Gap Year; A hit in the top end

The Australian Defence Force Gap Year program is a new program for students or recent school leavers. Participants get to experience everything the Navy, Army and Air Force has to offer within twelve months while earning at least $30, 000.

Amber Croke has just enlisted for a 12 months service with the Australian Army, through the Gap Year program. Soldiers from Darwin’s 1st Brigade arrived home recently after successfully completing their six month deployment, supporting the 3rd rotation of the Overwatch Battle Group-West (OBG-W) in Iraq. Commander of the 1st Brigade, Brigadier Michael Krause, greeted and thanked the returning troops before they were reunited with family, friends and loved ones, who had lined the airport to see the soldiers disembark.
