12 October 2007

On Sunday, March 4, the crew of a C-130H Hercules of No.37 Squadron RAAF on a flight from Perth to Richmond received word of an emergency beacon being activated near the town of Esperance, West Australia. The Hercules tracked the beacon and located four fishermen stranded on rocks. The Hercules crew radioed the position of the fishermen to authorities, who were able to divert a charter boat to rescue the fishermen.

On October 12, Commander Air Lift Group Air Commodore Jack Plenty presented a commendation to the crew of Trojan 06, a 37SQN C-130H which took the lead in a Search and Survivor Assist mission in March 2007.
