Defence Job AFL-NT carnival
09 October 2007
Defence Force Recruiting was the naming rights sponsor of the 2007 Defence Jobs AFL Carnival held recently at TIO Stadium, Darwin. Through the support of Defence Force recruiting, the AFL Northern Territory was able to grow the pre-season carnival into one of the biggest football events ever held in the Northern Territory.
The Defence Jobs AFL Carnival saw a record 26 teams competing in three sectors; the Army Community Division including sides from communities from within the Northern Territory; and the RAAF Women’s Division including teams from the women’s football league in the Northern territory.
Displays of personnel and equipment from Defence Force recruiting, NORFORCE and various units from the Army’s 1 Brigade over the weekend provided the opportunity for footy fans to explore life and a potential career in the Australian Defence Force.
