Exercise Sea Eagle

The Royal Australian Navy and Australian Regular Army are conducting Exercise Sea Eagle 07 in Whyalla, South Australia from 17-25 November 2007. The training exercise, taking place at Cultana Range Training Area, will give the ADF a chance to show off its amphibious capabilities.

This is the first time Exercise Sea Eagle has been conducted in Cultana Range Training Area. Exercise Sea Eagle will involve HMA Ships Manoora, Gascoyne, Yarra and Norman. In addition the Army have contributed personnel from 7th Battalion The Royal Australian Regiment, 10 Floating Support Bridges as well as two landing craft and their crews. A Sea King helicopter will provide air support.

A number of tasks will be demonstrated over the week long exercise, some of these include, beach reconnaissance, emergency scenarios, troop transportation, seamanship evolutions flying serials and diving operations.
