| On patrol in Dili These soldiers from Charlie Company of the 1st Battalion, the Royal Australian Regiment - have like the rest of their colleagues from the ANZAC Battle Group been providing a round the clock presence throughout Dili. Their role as part of the International Stabilisation Force is to provide a secure environment in which the East Timorese people have been able to confidently exercise their right to vote in the new nation's first independent Presidential elections. The work is hot and at times unpredictable, but hard and constant patrolling is allowing the troops to build strong and effective relationships with the East Timorese and re-build local confidence on the streets.
