Indigenous Participation Program Cadet Camp

24 May 2007

The Indigenous Participation Program Cadet Camp was run from Larrakeyah Barracks in Darwin as a general induction for new cadets and a reaffirmation for older experienced ones.

As well as learning basic military skills such as parade drill, dress and bearing, and team sports, the cadets also attended lectures on youth education subjects such as substance abuse.

The camp is conducted by current and ex-serving NORFORCE personnel, with cadets drawn from mostly-indigenous communities in the Northern Territory.
