ADFPP 2007 HMAS Larrakia

17 July 2007

HMAS Larrakia takes personnel from the ADF Parliamentary Program to sea off the coast off Darwin as part of the ADF Parliamentary Program.

The Australian Defence Force Parliamentary Program (ADFPP) for 2007 has been launched in Parliament House by the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Defence Peter Lindsay.

The program, which has been running since 2001, offers parliamentarians a number of ADF attachment options each year, providing a wide range of challenging and rewarding experiences.

Sixteen attachment options are programmed for this year, including deployments on board Navy ships both around Australia and overseas, fast jet aircrew training at RAAF Williamtown and joining a Mission Rehearsal Exercise to prepare a Battle Group for operations in Iraq.

The ADFPP also includes an exchange to Parliament which sees the attachment of ADF members to parliamentarians’ offices at Parliament House for a week.
