Funeral of Sergeant Craig Linacre

18 April 2007

Sergeant Craig Linacre was tragically killed with two other members of the Special Air Service Regiment, when their car left the road and entered the water in Victoria.

He was farewelled today with military honours at a private service at Norfolk Chapel Karrakatta, Western Australia.

Sergeant Linacre's wife was joined by their large circle of family and friends. Many past and present members of the Perth-based Special Air Service Regiment also attended the sevice.

Sergeant Linacre had served overseas on operations in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan and had been awarded a Commendation for Gallantry.

A military beared party comprising seven of his mates were on hand to honour their fallen comrade.

At the conclusion of the service the honour guard fired three volleys and the bugler played the Last Post in tribute to the passing of one of the nation's finest soldiers.
