Army Aborigional Community Assistance Program (AACAP) is a co-operative initative between the Deptpartment of Families, Communities Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA), the Department of Health and Ageing (DHA) and Army to improve environmental health conditions within remote Aboriginal communities.

AACAP had three main aims: vertical and horizontal construction, health and training.

21 Construction Squadron, in conjuction with 19 Chief Engineer Works, are currently working on the construction of four houses designed by Indigenious Housing Authority of Northern Territory (IHANT) at Booroloola in the Northern Territory.

The cyclone-rated three-bedroom, semi high-set steel frame homes provide better ventilation than the traditional low-set homes and are to be built in each of the communities Yanula, Mara, Garrawa 1 and Garrawa 2.

The training program is aimed at increasing skills in order to improve communities housing standards. It is a combination of acreditted competancies from Certificates I and II in General Construction and Certificates I and II in Engineering.
