The Melbourne Cup is one of those iconic Australian events that will grab the attention of our service men and women on operations overseas. MP3 Audio
The ability for our deployed members to be able to identify with these events has a strong and positive input on morale. In particular it reminds them of what their families and the wider Australian community are celebrating back home. MP3 Audio
The reality of course, is that the Melbourne Cup will provide a focus of interest for only a brief period of time and then the personnel will return to the job of conducting operations within their respective areas. That said, even a few moments spent listening to the Melbourne Cup and thinking of the atmosphere back home, provides a welcome break from the rigours of operational service. MP3 Audio
