Removing damaged F-111 from runway
21 July 2006
The aircraft lost one main wheel during take off on the 18th of July and it was decided the safest method to land was with the complete undercarriage retracted. The arrestor hook system was successfully employed to stop the aircraft and the crew walked away safely.
