HMA Ships Newcastle, Success and Kanimbla return to Australian shores

HMA Ships Newcastle, Success and Kanimbla, have returned to Australian shores today following their recent deployment in support of operations in the South West Pacific.

Commodore Flotillas, Commodore Peter Lockwood, joined the Special Operations Commander Australia, Major General Mike Hindmarsh and the Commander of the Joint Task Force, Major General Ash Power, in Townsville to welcome Kanimbla, her crew and embarked forces home.

Kanimbla disembarked troops and unloaded equipment and stores prior to sailing for her return passage to her home port of Sydney.
