Exercise Rajawali Ausindo

1 December 2006

Exercise Rajawali Ausindo is a C-130 Hercules aircraft interoperability exercise being conducted by the Indonesian Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) at RAAF Base Richmond between 27 November and 29 November 06.

Exercise Rajawali Ausindo will improve Australian and Indonesian air transport skills to respond more effectively to future natural disasters whether in Indonesia or elsewhere in the region.

The exercise involves airlift training and practice drops of equipment and supplies, as well as information exchanges on humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.

This exercise demonstrates the commitment between Australia and Indonesia to strengthen the Defence relationship in areas of mutual security and promote friendship and cooperation between the nations’ air forces.
