Operation Larry Assist

Operation Larry Assist, the Australian Defence Force mission to help the people of cyclone-devastated Far North Queensland, has brought relief and hope to the region.

Acting in support of the Queensland Government, Navy, Army and Air Force units have delivered food, water and shelter , backed by medical , engineering and aviation elements performing specialist tasks Cut-off by flooding rains, Air Force Hercules and Caribou aircraft were Innisfail’s first hope for large-scale shipment of aid.

Working side-by-side in with civil agencies including SES, police, fire, ambulance and Queensland Health workers, ADF personnel have played a key role in providing immediate emergency aid.
