Day out for children on sail training ship Young Endeavour

Disadvantaged Melbourne children joined members of the Royal Australian Navy and a youth crew for a unique sailing experience in Port Phillip Bay on 8 March 2006. They were joined by the Minister Assisting the Minister for Defence, Bruce Billson MP.

The national sail training ship Young Endeavour is completing an 11-day voyage from Eden, NSW, with 24 youth crew who are undertaking a youth development program at sea.

The Young Endeavour crew shared their sailing experience with ten children from Heatherwood School and the Doncaster Secondary College who are part of the not-for-profit Best Buddies program
