state funeral for the Navy’s last World War
1 veteran has been held at HMAS Cerberus in
Victoria.
Mr William Evan Crawford Allan died in hospital
on 17 October 2005 at the age of 106. Mr Allan
joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1913 and
served continuously until 1947 achieving the
rank of Lieutenant.
