Exercise Ocean Protector

14 February 2005

Exercise OCEAN PROTECTOR 05 which ran from 31 January 2005 to 11 February 2005 was a Fleet Concentration Exercise conducted off the Eastern Australian coast involving the Royal Australian Navy, Royal New Zealand Navy, Royal Australian Air Force and the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Exercise OCEAN PROTECTOR 05 is the lead up exercise for the larger combined maritime exercise TASMANEX, which tests the collaborative skills of Australia and New Zealand.

Both OCEAN PROTECTOR and TASMANEX serve to maintain and improve RAN/RNZN/RAAF and RNZAF interoperability.
