| 2005_S0180_078 The Rapid Prototyping, Development and Evaluation (RPDE) Program commenced initial operational tasking today (10 February 2005) with the signing of contracts by Defence and the initial industry participants. The initial participants in the program are ADI, BAE Systems, Raytheon Australia, Tenix and SAAB. The program offers an industry inclusive model for any company with a Network Centric Warfare capability that meets the RPDE participation requirements. The first tasks to be undertaken by RPDE involve examining what technology and processes exist to improve the Australian Defence Force's ability to conduct rapid environmental assessments and to improving the use of the existing communications capability.
