Salute to Veterans 60th Anniversary Celebrations

Salute
to Veterans was a national public event in Canberra
on 13-15 August 2005 to thank Australia’s World
War II veterans for their contribution, achievement
and sacrifice on the 60th anniversary of Victory
in the Pacific.
The event was organised by the Department of
Veterans Affairs as the centerpiece of VP Day
commemorations in State capitals and regional
centres around Australia.
The Department of Defence extensively supported
and contributed to the Salute to Veterans event
in Canberra, with the National Capital Authority,
Temora Aviation Museum, Canberra International
Airport, the Historical Aviation Restoration
Society, Qantas, Old Parliament House, and the
National Archives of Australia.
