Australian Aid to Vanuatu

02 March 2004

The second of two Royal Australian Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft has delivered much needed emergency stores to cyclone-torn Vanuatu arriving at 12:00pm local time yesterday, 1 March 2004.

The aircraft from RAAF Base Richmond delivered a consignment of tarpaulins, water containers and purification tablets drawn from Emergency Management Australia's disaster relief stocks. Australian servicemen posted to the region, as well as the Hercules aircrew, assisted local police with hand unloading of the supplies.
