05 August 2004
On Thursday, 5 August 2004, the Army's 1st Division celebrated its 90th anniversary and a milestone for the Australian Army.
Celebrations included the opening of the 1st Division Commanders' Memorial Walkway that was built by 21 Construction Squadron with the assistance of the Pine Rivers Shire Council.
Past soldiers of the 1st Division were among the allied forces that landed at Gallipoli 90 years ago. Today, the Division has soldiers deployed throughout the world on operations in such locations as the Solomon Islands, Timor Leste and the Middle East.
