New Special Forces training facilities, Holsworthy NSW

25 May 2004

Minister for Defence Senator Robert Hill announced the start date for new Special Forces training facilities at Holsworthy Barracks. The $80 million development will provide leading-edge training to Australia's counter terrorism forces. The new facilities will include indoor and outdoor multi-level electronic and live-firing ranges as well as a variety of targeting environments for Tactical Assault Group (East) and 4RAR (Cdo).

The facilities will be complete in 2006 and are part of a larger project that will see the construction of new office accommodation and an upgrade of infrastructure at Holsworthy Barracks.
