Explosive Safety Trial

On 6 May 2004, an explosion rocked outback
South Australia, damaging buildings and structures
- all in the name of safety.
The detonation was managed by the Defence Science
and Technology Organisation (DSTO) under a research
agreement with the United Kingdom Ministry of
Defence and took place on the Woomera Test Range.

| DDM06MAY04ARDU09 International and Defence ordnance experts detonated 5 tonnes of explosives at Woomera as part of an experiment to enhance international criteria for the safe handling and storage of explosives.
