What:             Media Conference with Mrs Shelley Kovco

When:            11:00am, Thursday 21 September 2006.

Where:           Level 2, Business Centre, Star City Casino.  Entry via main entrance of Star City, elevator access near reception.

Why:              Mrs Kovco has agreed to speak to the media at a one-off media conference on the condition that her privacy is respected on her return home.

How:              Due to the public venue media will be required to arrange their own parking and arrival.  All media can move straight to the Business centre without having to register with Star City Reception.

Media are to be assembled and ready to start by 11:00 am in the Business Centre.  Interested media are requested to provide early advice to the Public Affairs Officer Captain Chantal Llora on 0438 013 428, who is supporting Mrs Kovco during this conference, by no later than 9:00am Thursday, 21 September 2006 of their intention to attend.

Media Note:

The Department of Defence is releasing this alert on behalf of Mrs Shelley Kovco to facilitate her wish to speak with the media post the adjournment of the Board of Inquiry into the death of her husband Private Jake Kovco.

Defence requests that media respect Mrs Kovco’s privacy at this time and in the future as per her wishes.
