BOARD OF INQUIRY ADJOURNS UNTIL TUESDAY

 

The Board of Inquiry (BOI) into the death and repatriation of Private Jake Kovco will adjourn until Tuesday, 1 August 2006.  Private Kovco died on 21 April 2006 as a result of a single gunshot wound while serving with the Australian Security Detachment in Baghdad, Iraq.

The Board will adjourn to allow members of Counsel an opportunity to revise all evidence and give soldiers 17 & 19 the opportunity to rest before giving evidence to the Board next week.

The hearing will re-commence on Tuesday, 1 August at 10:00 am. 

Media are to assemble at the front gates of Victoria Barracks (Oxford street entrance) with appropriate identification at 09:40am for military escort into the barracks.   Late media will not be granted access.  Photographic identification will be required upon arrival at Victoria Barracks.  No vans will be permitted within Victoria Barracks.
