REPATRIATION OF PRIVATE KOVCO At the request of the family the body of Private Jake Kovco will arrive at Kingsford Smith Airport early on Saturday 29 April 2006. A Guard and Bearer Party of soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, will receive the body of their colleague and will carry it to a ceremony with Private Kovco’s family. It is anticipated that the funeral will be conducted in his home town of Briagolong in Victoria early the following week. Funeral arrangements are expected to occur early next week. Media note: The family has requested that the media please observe their request for privacy at this time. No media will be allowed access to the repatriation ceremony. The Department of Defence will pool vision through Channel 7 in Sydney. Photographs and sound files will be available mid-morning on the Defence web page at www.defence.gov.au/media/download/
