COMMANDER OF OP SUMATRA ASSIST AND ADF PERSONNEL RETURN HOME
What: The Commander of Operation Sumatra Assist Brigadier David Chalmers and a number of ADF personnel that deployed to Indonesia following the Boxing Day tsunami will return to Sydney tomorrow and will be welcomed home by Lieutenant General Peter Leahy, Chief of Army. BRIG Chalmers will meet with the Minister for Defence, Senator Robert Hill and the Chief of Defence force, General Peter Cosgrove next week for discussions relating to Operation Sumatra Assist.
When: Monday 28 March 2005 at 9.30 pm
Where: Arrivals hall, Sydney International Airport
Media Note: Media is invited to attend and representatives are requested to meet Major Grant King, Public Affairs Officer, Land Headquarters by 9.15 pm. The Commander of Operation SUMATRA ASSIST, Brigadier David Chalmers will be available for interview following the official welcome home.
