Defence Minister to open Biological Weapons Convention Regional Workshop The Minister for Defence Senator Robert Hill will deliver the opening address at a Regional Workshop on the Biological Weapons Convention in Melbourne tomorrow. Australia is co-hosting the workshop with Indonesia. This meeting demonstrates the continued strong commitment to halting WMD proliferation and keeping the Asia Pacific free of biological weapons. Representatives of 12 South East Asian and Pacific nations will attend the workshop.
Where: Faculty of Law, University of Melbourne, 185 Pelham Street, Carlton. When: 9.45 am sharp. A Defence Public Affairs representative will meet media in the ground floor foyer.
Media note: This will be the only media opportunity during the workshop.
