Latest images and vision from Operation Sumatra Assist

New images of Defence support to Operation Sumatra Assist in Indonesia are now available online at: http://www.defence.gov.au/optsunamiassist/gallery.htm

The stills imagery includes:

  • Navy hydrographers surveying the canal to allow landing craft to deliver supplies ashore.
  • The unloading of vehicles and heavy earth moving equipment from landing craft.
  • Commencement of the re-building of the road by engineers with heavy earth moving equipment.

Media Note:

Additional vision of Defence activities in support of Operation Sumatra Assist will be fed to TV networks via the Press Gallery at Parliament House in Canberra at approximately 2:30PM.
