F-111 Retirement Media Day

What:               Media are invited to register their interest to attend the F-111 Retirement Media Day

Where:            RAAF Base Amberley, South Amberley Road, Ipswich, Queensland

When:             Tuesday, 23 November 2010

Media will have the opportunity to visit RAAF Amberley for a final look at No 6 Squadron’s F-111 operations, conduct interviews with F-111 personnel and observe flying operations. This will be the final media opportunity to see the world’s last F-111s in military operational service, prior to the official farewell activities.

The day will comprise an overview of F-111 operations and history; question and answer session; tours of the F-111 simulator, hangar, workshops, flight line and F-111 flying operations.

Every effort will be made to accommodate nominations. However, please note that there will be limited capacity at No 6 Squadron and some nominations may not be successful. Selected media will be notified expeditiously of their successful nomination and further information regarding the event will be provided at this time.
