NEW C-130 HERCULES AIRCRAFT

The Royal Australian Air Force and Defence Acquisition Organisation invite media representatives to a welcome ceremony for the first of the RAAF's new C-130J Hercules aircraft.

The ceremony will take place at RAAF Base Richmond (west of Sydney) on Tuesday, 7 September from 9.30-11.00am.

Media representatives wishing to attend are asked to register with Mike James on Monday on 02-9359 2784 or 0412 261604 to facilitate base clearances. Media are also asked to assemble at the main gate to the base between 8.30 and 8.45am.

Vision, photographs and background material will be available on the day and library footage will be supplied to the networks on Monday. Crews seeking chopper approvals should apply through normal channels but advise Mike James on the above numbers so ground transport can be arranged.
