ARMY AIRCRAFT WITH THERMAL IMAGING EQUIPMENT JOINS SEARCH
FOR MISSING SNOWBOARDERS
The Army has sent an aircraft fitted with state-of-the-art thermal imaging
equipment in a bid to locate the four snowboarders missing in the Snowy
Mountains for the past nine days.
The Beech 350 Super King Air, commanded by Captain Kelvin Yeats, left
Army's Oakey Air Base at about 3.15pm in response to a request this morning
from the State Emergency Operations Centre.
The Super King Air is expected to arrive at Cooma early this evening
and join the hunt for the missing snowboarders in the Kosciusko National
Park as soon as the crew have been briefed by search authorities.
