Media Release
Defence Experts to Talk About Business OpportunitiesBusiness people in all States and the Northern Territory will be able to talk directly with Defence policy and purchasing specialists during a series of briefings by the Department of Defence in June and July. At ten regional briefing sessions, representatives of the Defence Acquisition Organisation and local Defence speakers with purchasing responsibilities will provide up-to-the-minute information on policy issues, major acquisition projects and regional procurement opportunities. Representatives of State and Territory Industrial Supplies Offices and Defence industry associations will address most gatherings. Briefings will be held in each mainland State capital plus Darwin, Launceston, Wollongong, Newcastle and Townsville. This will ensure representatives from small to medium companies in regional defence centres can become aware of issues discussed at the Defence Procurement Conference in Canberra a few weeks earlier and update their knowledge on current procurement practices, policies and opportunities both nationally and in their region. In Darwin, the briefing will be the culmination of a week of defence industry related activities. For details of other activities e-mail John.Zupp@dao.defence.gov.au. For additional information and registration details please contact your nearest Defence Acquisition Regional Shopfront.
