AUSTRALIAN AND INDONESIAN ARMIES CONTINUE ANNUAL EXCHANGE EXERCISE

Soldiers form the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australia Regiment, (3RAR) arrived in Indonesia today to take part in the biennial exchange activity Exercise TRISETIA.

The 115 soldiers from the Holsworthy based Bravo Company 3RAR will spend two weeks in Indonesia training with their counterparts in the Indonesian Army.

Exercise TRISETIA, which first took place in 1995, aims to foster closer cooperation and understanding between the armies of Australia and Indonesia.

During the exercise, the troops will combine to undertake routine field training, the exchange of information on capabilities and procedures, and improving levels of understanding of culture and customs among individual members of the two armies.

Exercise TRISETIA is an important part of the Australian Defence Force's routine exchange exercises conducted with the Armed Forces of Indonesia.
