DEFENCE SELECTS PREFERRED SUPPLIERS FOR HUMAN RESOURCE APPLICATION
The Department of Defence has selected three preferred suppliers from the Office of Government Information Technology Panel in its quest to purchase a Shared Systems Suite Human Resource application.
The three companies are: PeopleSoft; MINCOM; and SAP/R3.
Defence will now invite the companies to enter a competitive testing procedure prior to the final selection of the most suitable product.
The new system will allow Defence to manage its personnel; in the most cost effective manner currently available from industry. This should lead to substantial savings for the Department.
The selection procedure is expected to be completed by February 1998.
