Role
The Directorate of Litigation manage litigation and related activities for the Minister and Parliamentary Secretary, the Department of Defence and the Australian Defence Force in respect of civil claims against the Commonwealth, including administrative law challenges and judicial review of decisions. Types of matters that the Directorate manages include:
- Personal Injury Claims
- Responding to Court Orders such as Subpoenas
- Coronial Inquests
- Debt Recovery
- Compensation Claims
- Aircraft Noise Complaints
Court orders for production of documents (eg subpoenas, notices to produce or summonses) are to be served on:
