The Assistant Secretary Legal Services leads a branch of four directorates with the primary role of providing the nexus between Defence Legal and civil regulatory, judicial and commercial legal entities. This branch supports Defence through the provision of civil litigation, Freedom of Information (FOI), access to classified records, and the administration of the Compensation for Detriment through Defective Administration scheme and other special financial claim arrangements.
