Defence Unsolicited Proposals Gateway

Small business is important to Defence. As well as directly delivering a wide range of goods and services essential to the establishment and sustainment of Australia's self-reliant defence capability. Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are a vital element in major defence acquisition contracts through the supply of sub-systems and components. SMEs are the links in the supply chains supporting the operation and maintenance of most defence capabilities. SMEs can also be the birthplace of many of the innovative technologies that contribute to Australia's defence capability edge.

It is recognised that it can be difficult for SMEs to find the right entry portal to an entity as large and diverse as the Australian Defence Organisation. The Department of Defence Small Business Access (DSBA) portal has been created to address this problem. The DSBA is a 'one stop shop' where SMEs can access links to more information on opportunities to engage with both Defence itself and its prime contractors. The DSBA has dedicated staff located centrally in Canberra and is incorporated with the Defence Materiel Organisation Regional Offices (DMORO) in the major state capital cities.

The DSBA does not deal with companies wanting to directly supply goods and services to Defence. All offers of products and services are to be directed to the unsolicited proposals gateway.

This DSBA website is a portal to relevant sites in Defence. The DSBA can also be accessed from anywhere in Australia by telephone on 1800 621 783, your call will be answered by your closest DMORO, or via email at defence.smallbusiness@defence.gov.au
