The Defence Intelligence and Security Group (I&S Group) is dedicated to growing a professional and dynamic workforce with the skills and attributes required to achieve its mission. In order to do this, the I&S Group recruits a large number of graduates every year across many disciplines through a variety of programs.

AGO Intelligence Development Program (AIDP) (formerly DIGO)

The AGO Intelligence Development Program is the graduate entry point for highly motivated individuals from a range of disciplines to enter the following streams:

  • Geospatial Intelligence Analysts
  • Geospatial Intelligence Scientists
  • Geospatial Intelligence Technologists

As a AGO intelligence analyst you will contribute to the Australian national security effort, examining issues of global and regional importance. The work is constantly evolving, offering exciting and unique opportunities.

Altitude@ASD Program (formerly DSD)

The Altitude@ASD graduate program offers an entry pathway to recent graduates and those with post-graduate or specialist industry experience. Candidates in the graduate program undertake a rotation-based development and training regime designed to kick off an amazing and diverse career. The program is designed to offer high achievers an opportunity to gain a breadth of organisational exposure during three work rotations over 12 months. During this time candidates will acquire a diverse range of skills fundamental for a career in their chosen field, while also building professional and social networks across ASD, the National Intelligence Community and Defence.

The Altitude@ASD graduate program is seeking graduates with strong academic records in a diverse range of disciplines to commence the program via one of three career entry pathways, including:

  • Analysts
  • Technologists
  • Business

DIO Graduate Program

The DIO Graduate Program is seeking high-achieving graduates that can apply their knowledge of international relations, politics, history, economics, language, science, engineering or mathematics to make a vital contribution to the security of our nation. You will:

  • make a contribution to Australia's understanding of the strategic and national security environment
  • advise Australia's most senior government decision-makers and Defence planners
  • have a career that will use and develop your analytical skills
  • represent Australia internationally
  • be part of a successful, vibrant and collaborative workforce.
