RAAF Bases Williamtown and Tindal: Joint Strike Fighter |
Member: Baldwin | |
Mr Baldwin asked the Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science, in writing, on 8 February 2010:
To ask the Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science—Is he examining the possibility of providing compensation to land owners affected by aircraft noise as a result of the introduction of the Joint Strike Fighter at Royal Australian Air Force Base (a) Williamtown, and (b) Tindal; if not, why not.
Mr Combet - The answer to the honourable member’s question is as follows:
Full consideration by the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts of the Public Environment Report for the Joint Strike Fighter has not yet occurred. It would be premature to speculate on any potential recommendations to be made by the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts.
