Defence: Property Disposal

Senator Chris Evans asked the Minister for Defence, upon notice, on 20 May 2002:

Can a full list be provided of the Defence property sold (or expected to be sold) in the 2001-02 financial year, indicating: (a) the address; (b) type of property (vacant/buildings); (c) size of the property; (d) type of proposed sale (auction/advertised price); (e) name of purchaser; (f) sale price (or expected sale price); and (g) date of the sale.

Senator Hill - The answer to the honourable senator's question is as follows:

  1. , b., c., e. and g. As per annex A.
  2. Defence properties are sold in line with the Commonwealth Property Disposals Policy, which is available on the Department of Finance and Administration website.
  3. Due to confidentiality limitations it is inappropriate for Defence to disclose the sale price of the individual properties.
