Australia’s commitment to Afghanistan

Australian Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon. John Faulkner and the Commander of the International Stabilisation Force in Afghanistan,  General Stanley A. McChrystal.

The Minister for Defence, Senator John Faulkner, has reaffirmed there will be no increase to Australian troops numbers in Afghanistan at a press conference in Washington.

Soldiers strike insurgent stronghold

A Special Forces operation in Afghanistan has resulted in the seizure of insurgent weapons, improvised explosive devices, as well as Afghan Army uniforms and about 100 kilograms of opium.
