Budget Year (Year Zero) – Post Project Evaluation

Post Project Evaluation (PPE) assesses the level of success of a project in meeting the objectives set out in the Program Brief or as amended in the Project Delivery process.  The PPE is not a design competition, it is a simple assessment to measure if the project objectives have been met or not; and to recommend improvements to Defence FACOPS processes, procedures or future works of a similar nature.
Note
that the PPE is a joint activity involving both the DS and CMS staff.

Outcome:

  • Completed PPE for future review and action filed on DEMS against the Project ID
  • The PPE to be completed within 3 -12 months of handover of the works

Activity Considerations

1) CMS Project Manager to notify DSG of intent to conduct PPE 3 -12 month post handover.

2)  DSG to confirm agreed date for joint assessment and nominate participants.
3) DSG to chair the PPE assessment and on-site inspection. Customer satisfaction is the subject of CMS Performance Indicator 3258.
4) DSG to review draft PPE report from CMS and finalise.

Post Project Evaluation Report Template

That any residual risks and actions are identified and acted upon appropriately.

5) DSG to ensure PPE report is forwarded to MTS for comment.
  • Areas for improvement in process are to be incorporated into ongoing process improvement initiatives.
  •
  • Areas for performance improvement are to be incorporated into the CMS contractor performance management framework and coordinated with the Contract Administrator.
6) DSG to ensure final PPE is attached to relevant project record in DEMS.
