| Activity | Considerations | Outcome |

1) DGIAD assesses adherence to the authorised Site Selection Process. If the Site Selection Process is rejected, the Site Selection Process begins again at Step 1 or at the incomplete/missed Step and the Chair of the SSB informed of decision as per Activity 3 below. |
DGIAD reviews checklist and supporting documentation to ensure that the authorised Site Selection Process has occurred. If Site Selection Process is rejected, site is automatically rejected. |
Site Selection Process approved or rejected.

2) DGIAD provides sign-off on recommended site (on Siting Recommendation Minute as provided in Step 9 (Full Review)) |
Approval Authority must determine that the process has produced the site for which the infrastructure project is the optimum and highest use of the site and does not conflict with the current or future development of the particular Defence facility. |
Site is approved.

| 3) DGIAD or delegated officer informs SSB Chair of decision to approve / reject process and site. | Chair of the SSB informed of decision. | |
| 4) SSB Chair sends a copy of the Minute with DGIAD approval to SSB Members, Stakeholders and Regional and Technical Authorities to inform them of the decision. | SSB members and Stakeholders as per minute to DGIAD (Step 6 (Full Review)) and Regional and Technical Authorities as identified to assist in completing the Considerations Matrix (Step 7 (Full Review)). | SSB Members, Stakeholders and Regional and Technical Authorities informed of siting decision. |
| 5) Defence Project Officer informs Spatial Information Officer (LPSI) of decision. | If site approved, Spatial Information Officer (LPSI) updates maps with final site selected and removes other nominated potential sites for the project. | |
| 6) If appropriate, Defence Project Officer sends a copy of Minute with DGIAD approval to the Project Contractor. | Project proceeds at approved site with any stated conditions. | |
