1) Defence Project Officer confirms whether the project is:

If the project is a Defence project on Defence land proceed to Step 3. If the project is either a Defence project on land leased to Defence or a non Defence project on Defence land or land leased from Defence, contact the Directorate of Property Leasing and Acquisition (DPLA) to determine the Lease provisions and then follow, in consultation with DPLA, the procedures detailed in DI(G) ADMIN 35-1. In these cases dual approvals are required: approval that the nominated project is in accordance with the terms of the Lease and in compliance with DI(G) ADMIN 35-1 and in accordance with siting approval requirements. If it is a project on a Defence Training Area, the procedures detailed in DI(G) ADMIN 59-1 also apply to siting approval requirements. Project ownership and land tenure are established. Leasing requirements are established or invoked.
